WCW Worldwide 10/10/1992 [Videos]

Ric Flair left World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in July 1991, leaving for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), and for the first time since 1974, the former NWA territory/Jim Crockett Promotions organization did not have Flair, which was their biggest star on their television programs. With a roster led by former WWF Superstars Jake Roberts, Ricky Steamboat, Rick Rude, and WCW Wrestlers Sting and Big Van Vader, WCW tried its best to compete with Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon and the higher quality WWF television production values.

In 1992, one of WCW's longest-running weekly programs WCW Worldwide aired weekly with taped matches from around the county being shown to a television audience at a later date. Below is an example of this format, with the show being taped in Columbus, Georgia, on September 29, 1992, and airing on television on October 10, 1992, with hosts Tony Schiavone and Jesse Ventura. This episode included a matchup between Steve Austin and Brian Pillman against Scott Steiner and Marcus Alexander Bagwell, and the attempt to turn Steiner heel.
