In a rare match, two Canadian-born professional wrestlers Rick Martel and Bret Hart face off on May 1, 1989, at the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Both wrestlers were recently part of tag teams, and now find themselves in the early part of their singles run. 

Side Note: Later in the evening Bret Hart won a sixteen man Battle Royal which included Akeem, Ax, Greg Valentine, Hillbilly Jim, Jim Powers, Mr. Perfect, Richard Charland, Rick Martel, Smash, The Big Boss Man, The Blue Blazer Owen Hart, The Brooklyn Brawler, The Honky Tonk Man, The Red Rooster, and Tito Santana. Hart eliminated Rick Martel with assistance from Tito Santana.
