Below take a look at one of the greatest Royal Rumble matches of all time, the main event of the 1992 WWF Royal Rumble. Adding to the excitement of the 30-man match, the winner would be awarded the vacant WWF World Heavyweight Championship.
The match included some of the most accomplished professional wrestlers in WWF history, 22 of the 30 men in the match held a championship title at some point in their WWE career. Vince, I was there when this Rumble went down. It was the first PPV in Albany, and it would take 14 years before I'd see a 2nd one. Anyway, I can't recall what the sitch was with Mr. Perfect and/or Bret Hart that left them out of the Rumble. However, I do remember seeing Roddy Piper win his first championship with the then-WWF, beating the Mountie to win the IC title. Ric Flair got help from the most unlikely of sources to win the title and the Rumble, and the last memory of that night, sadly, was a disabled fellow accusing Flair of cheating, which clearly was not the case.
