Jerry 'the King' Lawler pins WWE Champion


(See Photo below) At 61 years old, Jerry 'the King' Lawler pinned the WWE champion The Miz on the December 20, 2010 edition of Monday Night Raw. Although Lawler did not gain the title in the six-man tag match, this marks the first time the WWE Hall of Famer pinned a current WWE champion.
Lawler won his first title, the NWA Southern Tag team title with Jim White, in March of 1973.

British Wrestling Council Hall of Fame: Bret Hart


Bret Hart was recently inducted into the British Wrestling Council Hall of Fame for his match with Davey Boy Smith held in London in August 1992. The honor was presented by British Wrestling Council Sacrlo Scholarship winner Gil Elkin (Axle Rage) at the Birmingham NEC as part of Memorabillia weekend.

Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling announced that its annual “Bound For Glory” Pay-Per-View extravaganza will be held live at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida, on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010 (10/10/10) starting at 8 p.m. ET and airing worldwide exclusively on Pay-Per-View.

New WWE Tag Team Championship Belts [Video]

On the August 16, 2010 edition of Raw, the Unified titles were retired into a new WWE Tag Team Championship with new belts presented by Bret "Hit Man" Hart to The Hart Dynasty.


The retirement of the World Tag Team Championship Belts ended the title belts which had lasted within the company for over 39 years. First established as the WWWF World Tag Team Championship title in 1971, the former belts were held by such teams as Demolition, The Valient Brothers, The British Bulldogs, The Hart Foundation, The Wild Samoans, The New Age Outlaws, The Dudley Boyz, The Legion of Doom, The Quebecers, Strike Force, The Smoking Guns, and Money, Inc.

Former WWE wrestler Lance Cade dies at 29

 Lance Cade (real name: Lance McNaught) was released from World Wrestling Entertainment in April 2010. WWE was informed Friday, August 13, 2010 that Cade had passed away of apparent heart failure.

Cade left behind two daughters and one step-son.

Cade was a three-time WWE World Tag Team Champion, and a former one-time TWA Television Champion in the Texas Wrestling Alliance.

TNA Heavyweight Rankings (UPDATED)

On April 26, 2010, TNA Wrestling created a monthly Top 10 Contender ranking system. Kurt Angle vowed to attain #1 and ultimately get a title shot at the coveted TNA World Championship.

**Due to a vacant TNA World Championship, the Heavyweight Rankings have been set aside.**

Kurt Angle had won six ranking matches in a row, however, he will now face off competators in a TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT. Winners advance to the Finals at "Bound For Glory" on Sunday, October 10 to crown a new TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

Bret Hart becomes the United States Champion [Video]


On May 17, 2010, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart, age 52, won the United States Championship for the fifth time (4 times in WCW and 1 time in WWE) in Toronto, Canada. Hart won his first professional wrestling championship in Stampede Wrestling on November 12, 1978.


On the May 24 edition of Raw, Hart vacated the title.

TNA iMPACT! returns to Thursday Nights on SPIKE [Videos]

After the success of iMPACT's Janaury 4, 2010 Monday night show, SPIKE Network agreed to move their headline wrestling program to Monday nights to go head on with WWE programming. After nine straight weeks on Monday nights (with five live shows and four pre-taped shows), TNA iMPACT! will return to Thursday nights on SPIKE. TNA iMPACT! originally aired on Thursdays on SPIKE from April 2006 to March 4, 2010.

Bret Hart: Survival of the Hitman [Videos]


The Survival of the Hitman is a documentary about Bret Hart that was produced by John Pollock, Jorge Barbosa and Wai Ting for The Fight Network. The film was originally released on March 22, 2010, in preparation for Bret Hart's in-ring return against Vince McMahon at WrestleMania XXVI in Glendale, Arizona. The documentary includes interviews with Bret Hart, Bruce Hart, Keith Hart, Ross Hart, Ted DiBiase Jr., Carl DeMarco, Paul Jay, Dwayne Johnson, Gordon Kirke, Jeff Marek, Heath McCoy, Jim Neidhart, Mauro Ranallo, Lance Storm, and Jimmy Hart.
